The Alps Tour - Road Racing at it's best

The Alps Tour is a 4 day road cycling tour from Queenstown to Lake Tekapo following the spectacular Southern Alps and the magical Mackenzie Country.

This is quite possibly the most awesome tour riding route in NZ.

The Alps Tour is for anyone who is passionate about cycling and/or cycle racing. All you need to do is choose what to wear and the speed you want to ride - we'll take care of all the logistics.
Despite te name of the Tour, it is a very flat course with rolling hills. The crown range is a significant climb but all the other climbs are rolling. The Tour was very nearly called the Lakes Tour as everyday goes past lakes - 14 total.

The aims of the Alps Tour are:

  • Provide a great cycle trip / race in a part of New Zealand that you would rarely have the chance to ride in
  • Make use of the spectacular roads, scenery, towns and cafes that follow the Southern Alps
  • An excuse to train up for something
  • A training base towards another goal
  • A way of justifying that new bike
  • Meet other passionate bike riders
  • To live like a pro cyclist for a long weekend - all you have to do is ride
